We organize wine tasting tours around events in Piedmont, especially in spring and fall. For further information see our News side.
5 days of exploring the Barolo and Barbaresco wine producing regions with visits to wine producers, enotecas (wine tasting stores of local products) and restaurants, giving you a rich experience of these prestigious Piedmont wines and the seasonal Piedmont cuisine .
The wine that was first to bear flowers in spring is is the last to bear grapes ripe for picking in the fall and are not harvested until mid October or later. By then the air has already started to get cold, especially at night and fog has started to cover the hills of the Langhe, especially in the mornings. Nebbia means fog in Italian and from that word the grape derives its name: nebbiolo. Three wines are produced from the nebbiolo grapes: Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo. The last one has been called the “king of wines” and this was Louis the XIV, king of France favorite wine, even though he had all the wines of France to choose from. This is also truffle time in Piedmont with the white truffle being offered in most restaurants with local dishes and other produce of the harvesting season. Alba is the center for the largest truffle auction in the world.
These tours include a 5 night stay at Casa Nuova and neighboring “agriturismo” as needed for accommodating all interested. Guided tours through the main wine producing regions and towns with visits and tasting at several chosen enotecas and cantinas in the Langhe region. Every night a different restaurant will be visited for tasting of the seasonal menus, accompanied with the local wines. We provide you with safe transport of the wine you may buy, for you to take with you on your flight or to be sent to your home.

Spring, summer fall or winter, every time is our favorite time in Piedmont. Of the four seasons we like spring (March – May) the most. The reason is the freshness and clearness of the air, the fresh green colors and flowering of trees and shrubs and the comfortable temperatures. These are the perfect times for being out in nature, hiking or cycling. Even though we offer these activities at any time, we will organize special tours for spring 2013, to be further announced on our News side. We will of cause organize a visit to the Barbera festival and wine tasting in Nizza Monferrato the first weekend in May, where 50 producer will presents their wines, allowing you to taste around 150 or more Barbera wines in two days. An unprecedented opportunity to expose your taste buds and senses to multiple wines of one grape. This is a very important training issue and allows you to truly adjust and set your taste for permanent reference, not only for Barbera but for wine tasting in general.
You will relive your visit to Piedmont Italy through the experience and memory of our wine and food tasting tours every time you open an authentic Piedmont wine bottle or taste and smell the special dishes from Piedmont.
Our wine tasting tours and classes are excellent starters to the wold of Piedmont wines.
